Treat yourself to a Grand Holiday Trip this Christmas

If you’re still wondering where to go for Christmas this year, let me help you with that dilemma! BE Grand Resort in Bohol is probably one of the best choices you’ll make this year. I visited the place last week to see their rooms and to try out their Christmas Special Buffet Menu. They exceeded my expectations.

As we were walking through the halls of the hotel and into their deluxe rooms, I couldn’t help but smile at how well designed the place is featuring several Kenneth Cobonpue pieces and art installations and paintings as well from other artists.

The deluxe rooms were bigger than I expected (38 sqm) and they even have both a separate shower and a bathtub (isn’t this one of the things you look forward to in a hotel? 😉 ). I’m particular with the sheets and so the first thing I did was feel it up (heh). It’s soft enough, good mattress; there’s enough room for luggage and a spacious closet to hang your clothes. The room is furnished with cool colors to match the beach vibe.

Oh, and a heads up for the bathtub — there’s a window next to it directly facing the room. Don’t worry, you can close it 🙂

But if you are planning to make the most out of your Christmas holidays with your partner (honeymoon plans?) or your family, I think it’s well worth staying at the Villas. The villas feel like your own vacation home. You get total privacy with only other villa residents roaming your area.  Surrounding the villas are lagoon-like pools that make for a very pristine look, with a relaxing environment; it’s available for you to jump in right from your balcony. It’s the perfect relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Exclusive Villas

The two-storey villas are perfect for families with a sizable bedroom on the ground floor (with an equally sizable bathroom) and a twin bedroom on the second floor for the kids.

Some of the facilities your family can enjoy are the gameroom, kids camp, gym, and spa, among others. They also have a total of five dining options you can choose from:

  • Food Hall – A local take on a modern gastropub
  • Bridge & Swim-up Bar – Casual cafe dining
  • Monkey Bar – Al-fresco dining at the waterfront (light snacks and drinks)
  • The Boathouse – Farm-to-table; exclusive to Villa residents
  • Lune – Rooftop bar

And what’s a vacation without proper good food to fill your tummies? This year, their Christmas special buffet menu is something to look forward to as well. Cebu’s famed lechon is served with their own twist — dinuguan rice-stuffed lechon! I’m not one like the usual who gets excited over lechon probably because I grew up with it (a little too much!) but this one got me a little excited after I tried it. Even went back for a second helping!

The other two things that made it to my top picks are the Roasted Brisket in Hickory Sauce and the Chap Chae. I did not expect those noodles to blow my mind. It looked simple and I didn’t think much of it but that was done well

  • Humba Ronda
  • Boholano Fried Rice

Not convinced enough? Look at this beach view. It can be your view, too!
